Why your fund choice matters

The difference between being in a conservative fund vs a growth fund over 30 years can be $200,000–$400,000 or more. Most people were defaulted into a fund when they first started working and have never reviewed it. We help you understand your options and switch to the right fund for your age and goals.

Fund Type Risk Level Expected Long-term Return Best Suited To
Conservative Low ~3–4% p.a. Near retirement (within 5 years)
Balanced Medium ~5–6% p.a. Mid-career
Growth Medium-High ~6–8% p.a. Long-term investors (10+ years)
Aggressive High ~7–9% p.a. Young investors with 20+ years

What we review

A thorough KiwiSaver review covers four key areas — and it takes about 30 minutes.

01

Your current fund type and whether it matches your timeline and goals

02

Your contribution rate and how to maximise the government and employer match

03

Your projected retirement balance under different fund and contribution scenarios

04

Whether a provider switch is in your best interest — we handle all the paperwork if so

Whatever your stage, we can help

KiwiSaver advice isn't one-size-fits-all. Here's how we tailor our approach to where you are in life.

Early career

Just started working

You're in a default fund and not sure if it's right. We check and switch if needed — it takes 10 minutes and could be worth tens of thousands at retirement.

Mid-career

Building toward retirement

You want to know if you're on track and whether you should increase contributions. We model the numbers and show you exactly what different scenarios look like.

Near retirement

Approaching retirement

We review whether your fund is too aggressive for your timeline and help you plan your withdrawal strategy so your savings last as long as you need them to.

Quick answers

Is KiwiSaver advice free?

Yes — same commission-based model as our insurance advice. Our review costs you nothing and you're under no obligation. See our full FAQ →

Can you switch providers for me?

Yes, any time. You can switch KiwiSaver providers whenever you like. If we recommend a switch, we handle all the paperwork — it typically takes 2–3 weeks to complete.

What's the government contribution?

Eligible members receive up to $521.43 per year from the government — you just need to contribute at least $1,042.86 yourself in the KiwiSaver year. Most people don't realise they qualify or how to maximise it.
